Have you ever copied some text from a web page, a word document, help, etc., and wanted to paste it as simple text into another application without getting all the formatting from the original source? PureText makes this simple. Just copy/cut whatever you want to the clipboard, click on the PureText tray icon, and then paste to any application or better yet, you can configure a Hot-Key to convert and paste the text for you - I use WindowsKey + V - Nice ehh.. download this nice utility at http://stevemiller.net/PureText/

You may be aware of the new DefaultButton and DefaultFocus properties that a few ASP.NET 2.0 controls, including the HtmlForm have. These properties allow you to determine which button gets "clicked" when you hit enter on the page, and which form control gets the focus when the page loads. However when using Master Pages things behave a bit different - Download the PDF: MasterPages-MHA-Focus_DefaultBtn.pdf (22,57 kb)

I often get asked questions like where to find danish zipcodes (mostly for importing into SQL Server 2005), how many countries there are in the world and where to find a list of languages? Well look no further:

This article describes how to create a Webform Front-End Generator and includes a free windows .NET application to solve this time consuming (and boring!) task. It divides the task into four simple steps:
- Database connection string input and testing;
- Stored procedure selecting;
- Stored procedure parameters extraction;
- Web form building.
It's not rocket science and surely your generated Webforms will need a brush-up to become truely useful (did anyone mention adding validators!), but still it quickly takes you at least half the way! :-) - Go ahead .. read the article!

My students often ask the same questions about Master Pages in ASP.NET - so I have created a small Tips & Tricks document which shows solutions to some of the most common questions. The document will be updated when new questions arise. Download the PDF: MasterPages-MHA-TipsTricks.pdf (22,70 kb)
